… กลิยงทำให้ผมพบเพื่อนแปลกหน้า ต่างภาษาและวัฒนธรรมที่คบหากันมาจนทุกวันนี้ อีกทั้งได้มุมมองชีวิตที่แตกต่างในระหว่างการทำงานในมุมเมือง ที่ต่างออกไป…
… หลังจากจบที่กลิยง ผมเริ่มฝึกงานในสกีรีสอร์ตเล็กๆที่เมือง ชาร์เมย์ (Charmey) แล้วกลับมาทำงานสายการบินสวิสแอร์ต่อเนื่อง ยาวนานเป็นเวลากว่า 13 ปีที่กรุงเทพฯ ทำให้ได้กลับไปคลุกคลีกับประเทศช๊อคโกแลตนี้อีกครั้ง…
…ผมเดินทางท่องเที่ยวขณะเดียวกันกับการทำงานไปด้วย ก่อนจะลาออกมาทำเรื่องงานกับเรื่องเที่ยวให้เป็นเรื่องเดียวกันอีกครั้ง ด้วยการเขียนหนังสือเดินทาง เป็นคอลัมนิสต์ นักแปล และสอนหนังสือในสถาบันหลายแห่ง…

สำหรับแก้วแล้วกลียงไม่ใช่เป็นสถานที่ที่มีทิวทัศน์ที่สวยงามแต่มีสภาพแวดล้อมที่เหมาะแก่การเรียนอีกด้วย โรงเรียนกลียงจัดว่าเป็นโรงเรียนที่มีการศึกษาที่มีคุณภาพสูงซึ่งได้นำภาคทฤษฏีกับภาคปฏิบัติมาประกอบการเรียนรู้ นอกจากนี้แล้วโปรแกรมการสอนทำให้มีความรู้ลึกซึ้งเกี่ยวกับอุตสาหกรรมการบริการเพราะได้มีโอกาสนำความรู้ที่เรียนมาไปใช้ในการฝึกงานอีกด้วย สุดท้ายแล้วกลียงยังช่วยให้หางานที่มีตำแหน่งดีๆหลังจากจบการศึกษา
For me, Glion does not only locate in a fantastic location with a view and environment that very suitable for studying, but Glion also provides very strong education program as it is the very first school that combined theories and practices together as a way of learning. Beside classes that always well related theory to practice, the program allows students to obtain in-depth knowledge of the industry from the high quality faculty, internships and researches. สวัสดีค่ะ ดิฉันชื่อ ชุติมา(เจี๊ยบ) เพชรตระกูลเจริญ/ ได้ศึกษาปริญญาโทที่กลียองทางด้านความเป็นผู้นำตั้งแต่เดือนมิถุนายน๒๕๔๙ ถึง เดือนมิถุนายน ๒๕๕๐ หลังจากได้เรียนจบได้มีโอกาสไปทำงานที่โรงแรมแชงกรีล่าที่เมืองไทเปประเทศไต้หวันในตำแหน่งเจ้าหน้าที่ดูแลลูกค้า วี.ไอ.พี. ความรู้และทักษะการบริหารที่ได้เรียนรู้จากกลียงเจี๊ยบได้มีโอกาสประสานงานกับผู้จัดการทั่วไป, ผู้จัดการห้องพัก และผู้จัดการฝ่ายขายและการตลาด ต่อมาเดือนธันวาคมปี๒๕๕๑ เจี๊ยบได้มีโอกาสย้ายไปอยู่บริษัท Interchan ซึ่งเป็นบริษัทมือถือ แล้วได้ทำหน้าที่วิคราะห์ข้อมูลลูกค้านำประเทศไทย, ไต้หวันและฮ่องกง วิเคราะห์การตอบรับสินค้าของลูกค้าและพัฒนาขั้นตอนในการบริการลูกค้า สุดท้ายนี้อยากจะฝากบอกขอบคุณอาจารย์ทุกๆท่านที่มอบความรู้ใหม่ๆให้ฉันมีหน้าที่การงานที่ดี
Hello, My name is Chutima Phettrakoolcharoen. I have joined Glion in June 2006 to June 2007 for MBA in Leadership. After I am graduated from MBA in June 2007, I had my first opportunity to work as a Guest Relation Officer at Shangri-La Hotel in Taipei to take care of VIP guests. Due to knowledge and management skills I have learn in Glion, I also had a chance to work with General Manager, Front Office Manager and Sale & Marketing to solve a large problem within the hotel. In December 2008, I had a new opportunity to work as analyzer of customer data of three countries (Thailand, Taiwan and Hong Kong), analysis customer feedback on products and improving the standard of service at Interchan (Mobile Phone) Company in Taipei. Lastly, I would like to thanks to all teachers for giving me brighten knowledge to achieve in my career.

เรียนการโรงแรมที่เลส์โรชส์และกลียองทำให้ได้เรียนรู้วัฒนธรรมต่างชาติซึ่งสามารถนำมาใช้ในการประกอบอาชีพทางด้านการบริการได้เป็นอย่างดี ในตอนแรก มาริโกะ กลัวที่จะคิดถึงบ้านเพราะเป็นครั้งแรกที่ต้องจากที่ไหนไปไกลๆ แต่พอไปถึงก็เจอเพื่อนมากมายหลายสัญชาติจึงทำให้ไม่คิดถึงบ้าน ส่วนการเรียนภาคปฏิบัติก็ทำให้เราเพลิดเพลินไปกับสิ่งที่เราเรียนและก็ได้ประสปการณ์เพื่อที่จะนำไปใช้ในที่ทำงานจริงแล้วก็ยังทำให้เข้าใจภาควิชาการมากขึ้นด้วย ในความคิดเห็นส่นตัวแล้วเห็นว่าการศึกษาที่ประเทศสวิสเซอร์แลนด์ได้จัดเวลาเรียนและเวลาเล่นได้สมดุลกัน ฉันก็เชื่ออีกว่าเวลาทำงานก็ต้องทำอย่างเต็มที่แต่ไม่ควรทำจนเกินกำลังและควรแบ่งเวลาพักผ่อนด้วย
Studying in Les Roches and Glion has enabled me to meet people of various cultures and backgrounds that helped me broaden my aspects in the real world. In the beginning I was afraid that I was going to be homesick since it was the first time away from home. However, as soon as I was there I met so many new friends that I didn’t feel homesick at all. The practical part of the curriculum allowed us to enjoy ourselves while we have on hands experience and help us to get prepared for the real industry. It also helps us to better understand the academic side. In my opinion studying in Switzerland has a nice balance between study and play. As I believe when you work you have to work hard, but you must also not overdo yourself and enjoy yourself at times.

My family has been running a small hotel and restaurant for more than a decade, because of the passion in culinary and hospitality business, which I would one day like to be a part of the management team. However, I have heard about Glion’s reputation for a long time and I truly believe that studying here will make me become a professional in this career path, thus, I chose Glion for my master study. Today, I am the management trainee at my family-owned hotel; somehow, I feel that those courses I took at Glion do benefit me in several ways, since they enhance my leadership skills, financial skills and language skills. Moreover, being a student in Glion has widened my vision and also given me opportunity to work on real-life management situations. Studying in Glion was one of the greatest experiences in my life.

แพรตัดสินใจที่จะเรียนต่อการจัดการบริหารการโรงแรมที่โรงเรียนกลียงเพราะคิดว่าอุตสาหกรรมการบริการเป็นธุรกิจที่น่าสนใจ ถึงแม้ว่าประสบกับปัญหาวิกฤษเศรษฐกิจแต่ประชากรก็ยังมีความต้องการพักผ่อนและการท่องเที่ยว
ความประทับใจครั้งแรกที่กลียงคือได้เจอสิ่งแวดล้อมที่ดีเพราะว่ากลียงไม่ใช่แค่โรงเรียนอย่างเดียวแต่ยังได้พบปะนักเรียนมากกว่า๖๐ สัญชาติซึ่งสามารถเรียนรู้วัฒนธรรมต่างชาติและยังได้มีโอกาสสร้างconnectionเพื่อที่จะมีโอกาสทำธุรกิจกับนักเรียนต่างชาติอีกด้วย หนึ่งปีครึ่งที่ผ่านมาแพรได้เรียนรู้หลายอย่างซึ่งไม่สามารถหาได้จากหนังสือแต่ได้ความรู้และประสบการณ์จริงจากอาจารย์แล้วยังได้เรียนรู้การทำงานร่วมกันจากนักเรียนหลายสัญชาติซึ่งทำให้มั่นใจและมุมมองที่เปิดกว้าง
ประเทศสวิสเซอร์แลนด์เป็นประทศที่สะอาดและสวยงามมีกิจกรรมหลายอย่างให้ทำเช่นว่ายน้ำในทะเลสาป, ปั่นจักรยานขึ้นภูเขา, ปิ้งบาร์บีคิวกับเพื่อนๆตอนฤดูร้อน, เล่น ski และsnowboardในช่วงฤดูหนาวหรือช่วงปิดเทอมยังไปประเทศอื่นๆได้อีกเช่นอิตาลี, ฝรั่งเศส, ออสเตรีย, เยอรมันและอื่นๆอีกมากมาย
สุดท้ายแล้วแพรคิดว่าเป็นการตัดสินใจที่ถูกที่ได้เรียนที่กลียง ได้ความรู้ใหม่ๆ, ประสบการณ์ดีๆ, เพื่อนๆที่มีความจริงใจและเป็นช่วงเวลาที่ดีที่สุด
I decided to go to study Hospitality Management at Glion because I thought Hospitality Industry is an interesting Business. Even though it’s an economic recession period but people still need their leisure time and traveling.
My first impression at Glion is the good living environment since Glion is more than a school, it’s a small society of international students and professional teachers living together. One and half year at Glion was amazing moments. I have learnt many things which I could not find in the books from teachers, also improved and developed my skill for team work through group projects which I had to work with my friends from many nationalities; I became more confident and open minded. Glion offers me a great opportunity to learn other cultures and good connection which would be an advantage for working in the future.
In addition, Switzerland is a very beautiful and safely country. There are many activities to do all year long such as go swimming in the lake, mountain bike, bar-b-q with friends in summer , go skiing, snowboard with school in winter or during midterm-break we can discover Switzerland, France, Italy etc. easily by train.
I think I have made the right decision to go to Glion; I gained new knowledge, good experience, true friendship and it’s the best time in my life.
