Justin Strachan

Justin spent 10 years in the hotel industry with senior roles at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong before pursuing an exciting career in sports marketing. Working with Asian PGA Tour Ltd, he managed the implemention of professional golf events throughout South East Asia and in 1999 became CEO responsible for an international team controlling the exclusive commercial rights programme of the Asian PGA Tour. Justin went on to secure senior consultancy roles with the Asian Tour after it replaced the Asian PGA and then moved to Thailand as Executive Director of Hua Hin Golf Tours, a successful golf tour and hotel operator.

In 2007 Justin established SGL, providing golf and leisure services throughout Thailand.

I am very proud to be a student of Les Roches. I did enjoy the time there with friends from 65 countries over the world. We learned different culture and how to live with others, caring and sharing which you can’t find in the text book.

“Les Roches” also gave me tons of experiences in terms of practicing, theories all the teachers were excellent and what I have learned in school I can adapt in real life for my career in hotel industry.

I think I picked a right choice never felt home sick when I was there and more than happy to be a part of it.

If you ask me now “Would you go to this school?” My answer is “Yes I would” and would recommend to everyone who ever interested in Hotel management.

“Every time I think about Les Roches. It always brings me lots of good memory. My horizon has been broadened due to multi-cultural environment. One good thing about Les Roches is the required apprenticeship that took place on and off campus. In other words, the Industry training gave me a chance to develop my technical, language and personal skill. My life has changed favorably. I have become a mature, responsible and self-confident person since then. My conclusion is Les Roches not only provides a springboard for one’s full life but also acts as a stepping stone to one’s lucrative career. ”

I am an alumni of Les Roches in the academic year of 2007. I was graduated with Diploma of Swiss Hotel association and BBA in International Hotel Management. I am currently studying MSC Marketing Communication at Bedfordshire University in England.

If you ask me to critically evaluate if Les Roches would be a good choice for anyone interested in Hospitality Industry or not.  I would say “yes” Les Roches would be a good choice. From what I have researched and my past experience over 10 years of studying aboard, there are only 4 Universities in the world that have a great facilities and reputation for hotel management, namely Cornell University (USA), Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (Switzerland), Les Roches International school of Hotel Management (Switzerland) and Glion Institute of Higher Education (Switzerland).   If you decide to choose any of these four universities, you can be assured you are at the right place but keep in mind it is up to you to manage your knowledge as a powerful tool for your future.

 I graduated from Les Roches with PGD course in May 2008. Les Roches gave me so many experiences. I could learn how to cook in the kitchen and give service to people. Moreover, I had so many friends from all over the world which make me learn more culture. More important, I had a chance to have an internship with Denver Marriott South, Colorado for 1 year because they trusted on Les Roches’ quality that I got from school.
